Notes:

I designed and oversaw building everything - scenery, lighting, and costumes on this show, and I found out what human limits in a time frame are. The scenery on this show was a painted backdrop and castered units. I did shape the legs as trees with cut openings. In design I tried to get close to the Tenniel illustrations. Not shown here, because it wasn't mine, was a wonderful mushroom unit designed and built by student Tony Andrea.

For the transition we had reversed duplicate fireplaces, mirror and chair on each side of the center unit. As the unit was pivoted by 2 crew upstage, a shot of stage fog went up through the fireplace mantle, lighting went to a strobe, the actress slid back the mylar mirror panel and stepped through when it was half turned. I don't think we fooled anybody, but it looked like we wanted to. A black scrim blanked the painted drop.
